Atalaya de Tres Rios \u2013 Born between three rivers<\/h4>

This Criollo cocoa comes from the province of Atalaya in the Ucayali region on the border with the Jun\u00edn region in Peru. Situated between the eastern foothills of the Andes and on the western edge of the Amazon lowlands, the three jungle rivers Tambo, Urubamba and Ucayali meander through the area. In one of the warmest regions of Peru, the climate is characterised by high humidity and hot temperatures. The flowing, veiny environment, the geographical border conditions and the climatic conditions are ideal for the original Criollo cocoa bean.<\/p>

This is how the local Atalaya variety was developed over many years. Lovingly cultivated by a small family cooperative with expertise in organic Criollo cocoa cultivation<\/h4>

Like all Suyana cacaos, this one comes from controlled biological cultivation<\/a> directly from a small farmers' cooperative consisting of just three family farms. The plantation is supplied with clean water from its own well. This ensures that the plantations receive pure water and are not exposed to \"water stress\". The cocoa plants are spared plagues and can develop and grow in a relaxed manner.
