Ceremonial Grade Cacao
Ceremonial cocoa is much more than just a drink - it is a companion for consciously pausing, grounding and connecting with yourself. Its difference to conventional cocoa powder lies in the processing: the whole, high-quality cocoa bean is used here - including cocoa butter - and processed with particular care. This preserves the natural abundance of flavours, minerals and plant substances.
Many people also refer to raw cocoa in this context. Although cocoa is never completely "raw", the term describes the originality that is preserved in the whole bean and the gentle processing. You can find out more background information and exactly how our cocoa is processed in our blog post: What does raw cocoa actually mean?.
Although "ceremonial cocoa" is not a protected term, we have a clear definition for ourselves: for us, it means cocoa from original varieties, grown in agroforestry instead of monocultures, fairly traded, without alkalisation, without chemical standardisation and free from additives. Simply pure cocoa - close to its source and in harmony with nature and people.
For centuries, cocoa has been valued in various cultures as a plant of connection and ritual. Today, it accompanies people in many different ways: as a heart-opening ritual, as a conscious time-out in everyday life or as a gentle companion for clarity, grounding and connection. Ceremonial cocoa is a gift - natural, powerful and rich in everything that the cocoa plant gives us. Whether enjoyed alone, as a daily ritual or shared in a group, it invites you to feel more deeply and consciously enjoy life.

Preparation recommendation for ceremonial cocoa
For one cup (approx. 200 ml) you need:
- 20-35 g ceremonial cocoa
- 200 ml water (optionally mixed with plant milk)
- a pinch of salt
- your favourite spices or our spice mix "Your hope“
- sweeten to taste - e.g. coconut blossom sweetener, honey, agave syrup or maple syrup
Gently heat the water without bringing it to the boil - cocoa does not like heat that is too high. Pour the cocoa into a saucepan and stir it in slowly with a whisk or milk frother until it has completely dissolved and formed a creamy, velvety texture.
Take a moment before you drink - breathe in the aroma, feel the warmth in your hands and let the cocoa take effect.
Drink it slowly, sip by sip, and feel how calm and clarity come over you.
